As you’ve probably heard by now, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime announced his retirement earlier today. He will be stepping down in April, and current Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Doug Bowser(!) will be taking up the mantle.

Gosh, what can be said about Reggie that hasn’t already been said? I mean…it’s Reggie. Frankly, I’m sad to see him go, but at least it’s on his own terms. His personality and demeanor made him more than just a head of a company, he always came across as a down-to-earth guy you could relate to and laugh with (or at). Most of all, it was always clear how much he truly cared about video games, which I think is what endeared him to fans the most, myself included.

So thank you, Reggie. Thank you for everything.
